Details

We are looking for a student to help research, write and curate a newsletter that represents the vision and mission of Spinning Forward.

This project will include:

  • Researching new stories related to the creator economy that will benefit our audience who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) content creators
  • Curate newsletter stories and also write occasionally original stories through interviews that benefit BIPOC content creators who mainly live in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Stories topics cover social media tech platforms in the creator economy, mental health and resilience tips, tricks, and hacks, profiling successful BIPOC content creators,
  • Getting feedback from team and Editor-in-Chief
  • Basis design skills with full access our in-house software design and newsletter tools
  • Assisting with planning editorial calendar using thir party software
Deliverables

The final deliverables should take the form of:

  • Excellent written skills and oral communication skills
  • Strong research, writing and editing skills
  • Strong interest in learning about diversity, equity and inclusion issues and the online racial pay gap
  • Strong interest in learning about issues important to Gen Z in the real world and online world
  • Ability to proofread newsletter content prior to publication
  • Strong interest in learning design (thumbnails and images) using our third-party design tools
  • Interest in learning audio editing as the newsletter will have some audio content in the future like interviews and new music from BIPOC artists

Mentorship

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship throughout the project.

Highly experiencing in mentoring and overseeing students using collaboration, project management and video conference tools

Students will have access to paid software tools with support and best practices provided
