Details

Children's Dream Adventures is seeking to design a re-usable, food-grade silicone lid for a widely used product. We would like to create a lid that is not only functional but will also feature our logo. The lid will be sold as a fundraiser for our IRS 501c3 non-profit organization. The team will need to consider factors such as safety, durability, ease of use, and aesthetic appeal. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of product design, materials science, and user-centered design principles. The final design should be practical, manufacturable, cost-effective, and align with industry standards for food safety.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a comprehensive design proposal for a food-grade silicone lid, complete with detailed sketches and 3D models. The team will also provide a materials analysis report, ensuring the chosen silicone meets safety and durability standards. Additionally, a presentation summarizing the design process, research findings, and final recommendations will be required. These deliverables will demonstrate the team's ability to integrate classroom knowledge into a real-world product design challenge.
