PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our organization wants to further our efforts to increase awareness about Diabetes and gestational Diabetes. We would like to work with students to develop a campaign that successfully raises awareness and changes behaviour around this health topic in low income and marginalized communities, specifically in the BPOC community. In collaboration with key contacts at our organization, students will design and carry out a campaign strategy around this health topic.

KEY PROJECT ACTIVITES:

  • Identify groups which this campaign will target.
  • Identify ideal outcomes and KPIs.
  • Include the latest and most accurate data and information.
  • Design leaflets, posters, videos, and/or brochures.
  • Collect data on target population (emails)

Mentorship

In Canada, the prevalence of Diabetes is highest in the African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) communities. Our team is committed to dismantle the unique barriers and systemic health care oppression experience by individuals within this community. As a new organization, we have assembled a multi-sectoral group of passionate individuals to improve the available health resources, address stigmas and implement consistent, culturally appropriate Diabetic information.
