Details

Vergo is offering an 80-hour internship opportunity for a motivated student to explore innovative ways of visualizing human movement and high-risk posture data. This internship is an exciting chance to work with cutting-edge technology in the field of workplace safety and ergonomics.

Internship Objectives:

  1. Data Analysis: Analyze the human movement and high-risk posture data collected by Vergo's computer vision technology.
  2. Visualization Techniques: Explore various data visualization techniques to represent this complex information effectively.
  3. User-Friendly Interface: Design an intuitive and user-friendly interface that allows users to interact with and understand the data.
  4. Feedback Integration: Collaborate with Vergo's development team to incorporate user feedback and improve data visualization features.

Deliverables

Data Analysis:

  • Collect and review the existing human movement and high-risk posture data generated by Vergo's computer vision technology.
  • Utilize the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) ergonomic standard to determine risk scores associated with different postures and activities.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and key insights within the data.

Research and Exploration:

  • Investigate various data visualization techniques used in ergonomics and safety analysis.
  • Explore innovative visualization methods beyond conventional charts and graphs.

Prototype Development:

  • Develop prototypes or mock-ups of potential data visualization solutions.
  • Create interactive prototypes to demonstrate user interaction and data exploration.

User Feedback Integration:

  • Collaborate with Vergo's development team to incorporate user feedback into the visualization design.
  • Ensure that the visualization meets the needs and preferences of Vergo's clients.

Testing and Validation:

  • Conduct usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness of the data visualization solutions.
  • Validate the usability and user-friendliness of the interface through user testing and feedback.

Documentation:

  • Document the design process, including the rationale behind design decisions.
  • Create clear and comprehensive documentation that guides the implementation of the chosen visualization solution.
Mentorship

To support students in successfully completing the 80-hour internship project at Vergo, we will provide the following resources and assistance:

  1. Access to Data: We will provide the intern with access to relevant human movement and high-risk posture data collected by Vergo.
  2. Training: If needed, we will offer training on ergonomic standards, especially the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) method, to ensure the student understands how to assess and interpret the data accurately.
  3. Technical Guidance: Our technical team will be available to assist with any technical challenges related to data handling, programming, or data visualization tools.
  4. Regular Check-Ins: We will schedule regular check-in meetings to monitor the intern's progress, address questions, and provide guidance on the project's direction.
  5. Collaborative Environment: The intern will work closely with the Vergo team, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas and feedback can be freely exchanged.
  6. Feedback and Mentorship: Our team members will offer mentorship and constructive feedback to help the student develop their data visualization skills.
