Our company has a website / technology product. A standard practice for web based tools is to conduct what is known as penetration tests. We would like a group of students to design and perform a pen test on our application, involving: Students become familiar with our product and understand generally how it works. Students should spend time conducting research on state of the art pen testing technologies. They should look into common vulnerability lists such as OWASP Top 10, and common security tools such as Nmap, Burp Suitar, Nessus, and Wireshark. Students should have a written attack plan and present it to us Students are free to attack our product as per the presented plan.

Awareness Contest Design
Our organization is passionate about promoting social causes. We want to increase awareness about a particular topic. We would like to work with students to design an awareness contest where contestants promote our cause and win rewards along the way. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our organization’s goals and campaigns. Designing the contest structure and assessment criteria. Creating materials to promote the contest. Running the contest online and collecting submissions.

Market Expansion Research
As a company, we currently exist in one market, but we believe we are ready to take our business to the next level and expand our scope of locations. With your help, we hope to assess our customer landscape beyond the demographics we currently cater to by learning about their expectations and behaviors. Currently our market is the youth, we want to expand our readership to the other age groups. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching the target market in potential new locations including demographic data such as spending power, proximity, accessibility, and location appeal, and creating a weighted decision matrix to assign importance to each factor. Creating a survey based on the location and demographic information above to be distributed by our company. Analyzing survey data using the weighted decision matrix to decide on the best location options for us to expand to. Compiling a report including the location analysis, and optimal location recommendations.

Fundraising Plan
Our organization is committed to serving our target population. However, we are currently facing funding challenges. We would like to collaborate with students to develop a fundraising plan to meet our goals. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our mission, values and goals. Familiarizing themselves with our past fundraising activities and donors. Conducting background research on fundraising strategies. Recommending suitable fundraising strategies and creating a timeline / calendar of these activities. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Assisting in implementing new fundraising activities.

New Product Marketing
We would like to revamp our marketing as we have recently developed a new product. Together with our marketing team, we would like students to design new promotional material for this new product. Based on our insights and additional research, students will develop promotional marketing materials for our existing media and make recommendations on alternative media to consider. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our target market, products and services. Assessing our existing marketing strategy and efforts. Recommending marketing tactics to promote our new product such as exclusive previews and introductory offers. Designing promotional material for various media. Making multiple versions of marketing materials and testing them for comparison.

First, we would like students to get familiar with our product. Sign up, play around with it, understand generally how it works. Second, students should spend time conducting research on state of the art pen testing technologies. They should look into common vulnerability lists such as OWASP Top 10, and common security tools such as Nmap, Burp Suitar, Nessus, and Wireshark. Third, students should have a written attack plan and present it to us so we can confirm we understand what the test will do and what might be uncovered. Fourth, students are free to attack our product as per the presented plan

SEO and Social Media Strategy
Our team is looking to take our social media presence to the next level in order to drive traffic to our pages. To do this, we hope to improve our search engine optimization, and create an optimal schedule for our social media posts to be uploaded. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching keywords to determine the most relevant terms that our customers search for. Researching Search Engine Optimization requirements for us to rank on the first page of Google. Constructing a content calendar to upload social media content for the maximum possible traffic . Creating social media content using the most efficient keywords for our target audience while following the content calendar. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Using our company’s social media analytics to tailor the content calendar to our customers activity, rather than general trends

Online Website Design
We would like to collaborate with students to produce a design prototype informed by real customer input and feedback that we can bring to a developer for implementation. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Conducting user interviews and research on our industry, our target market, and desired website features. Designing a wireframe prototype for our website and mapping out user interactions. Documenting the design process and any additional insights that emerge. Testing the prototype with customers and surveying for feedback. Refining design ideas with input from experts and customers. Prototyping multiple versions of a design that includes the desired website features.

Data Entry
Our research lab publishes dozens of papers every year to promote projects in our field of research. Among these papers are studies detailing our lab’s findings from analyzing databases. We would like to collaborate with students in data entry. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our database structure. Transferring data into our databases efficiently. Verifying the accuracy of the data in our databases and making relevant updates. Organizing and retrieving data as requested. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Providing assistance in creating new databases.
