Analyzing the Economic Impact of Tariffs on Electric Bikes in Ontario

The 171 Electric Bike Company Inc. seeks to understand the economic implications of the recent tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on electric bikes imported into Ontario, Canada. This project aims to analyze how these tariffs affect the pricing, sales, and overall market dynamics of electric bikes in the region. Learners will apply their knowledge of international trade, economics, and market analysis to assess the short-term and long-term impacts of these tariffs. The project will involve researching historical data, current market trends, and potential consumer behavior changes due to increased costs. By understanding these factors, the company hopes to develop strategies to mitigate negative impacts and explore opportunities for growth in a changing economic landscape. This project aims to conduct a desktop study analyzing the impact of Trump’s new tariffs on imported electric bikes (e-bikes) and how Ontario's e-bike industry can benefit from this situation. The objective is to identify opportunities for local manufacturers, optimize supply chains, and develop marketing strategies to promote domestically produced e-bikes. This study will be completed within one month. Objectives Assess Tariff Impacts: Examine how the new tariffs affect pricing, demand, and supply of e-bikes in Ontario. Identify Local Manufacturing Opportunities: Research potential for local production to mitigate tariff impacts. Develop Marketing Strategies: Create strategies to promote the benefits of purchasing locally made e-bikes. Evaluate Supply Chain Adjustments: Analyze existing supply chains and identify areas for improvement.
