Hi, my name is Mirsab Arif, I'm a student at McMaster University who is currently in their 3rd year of the Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences program with a specialization in Electrical and Biomedical engineering. I am currently working as a Tutor at YorkRegion Tutoring approaching two years of experience, in addition to my full time role with the University itself as a Program Support Assistant under the Writing and Academic Skills department. My primary focus is on data-analysis and management but I do have a background with 3D-modelling, printing, electrical circuitry and micro controllers.
I will be working at Toronto Hydro in 2025-26 term as a Meter Data Management Technical Student as well! Feel free to reach out via LinkedIn or email at https://www.linkedin.com/in/mirsabarif/ or m.k.arif@outlook.com

Now Organic Farms Composter Prototype Research and Design
The main goal of this project is to research and design a prototype composter for Now Organic Farms. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Researching existing composters and their designs. - Developing a prototype design for the composter. - Testing the prototype design for effectiveness and efficiency. - Optimizing the design for cost, durability, and sustainability. - Researching other variables that can improve the design of the composter. - Accounting for additional variables in the design of the composter.

Prototype Composter Development
The main goal for the project is to develop the designed prototype of the composter for Now Organic Farms. The company is committed to providing local nutrient-rich foods and reducing waste, and the prototype composter will contribute to building a sustainable environment by efficiently composting organic waste. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Reviewing the design specifications and requirements for the prototype composter. - Developing the mechanical components and systems for the composter. - Testing the prototype to ensure it meets the performance and efficiency standards. - Making any necessary improvements or modifications based on the test results. - Documenting the development process and providing a final report on the prototype composter.

Indigenous Toponym Cataloguing
SquirrelRidge.org is seeking to develop a comprehensive catalogue of Indigenous toponyms found within a collection of archival primary sources. The goal of this project is to identify and document place names of Indigenous origin, which are often overlooked in historical records. This project will provide learners with the opportunity to apply their skills in archival research, data organization, and cultural studies. The team will work with a curated selection of scanned documents, focusing on extracting relevant toponyms and contextual information. By doing so, learners will contribute to the preservation and recognition of Indigenous cultural heritage. The project will enhance learners' understanding of Indigenous history and the importance of place names in cultural identity.
