Recommendation Engine Prototype
Our company has a mobile app that recommends relevant digital content filtered from social media, to help parents nurture their children's curiosity. The website welcomes parents, educators, therapists and trusted voices from the community to curate and share different content templates to help kids achieve specific learning goals. We would like a group of students to improve the AI models driving our current recommendation engine. These recommendations must be able to draw from even more social media platforms than we currently have, and flag both the relevance of content to the child's curiosity, and any relevant information about the views expressed in the videos. Finally the model should also be able to guide parents through the next steps they can follow to ground digital learning in actual life experience/tasks. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing yourself with our website and product to understand how they work. Researching state-of-the-art machine learning and content/feed curation technologies. Developing models, and improving our current evaluation dataset used to test them using (langchain/python) Testing recommendation engine prototype models with users. Iterating and improving tested prototype models.

Mobile App Improvement
Our startup recently released the MVP our flagship product, JOYfuel. It is written in React Native, and we have gathered significant feedback since we started testing it with over 15 users in the last month. We would like to collaborate with students to implement some app updates. These updates will help us host the app on the iOS store, and also fix bugs in the current android version. . This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our platform and product. Executing identified updates for our app. Shipping and documenting changes. Recommending areas for future app improvement.

"1000 Healthy Feeds" - A JOYfuel Campaign
As the mental wellness crisis affects millions in Canada, we believe in changing the narrative by empowering parents, one healthy digital feed at a time. To turn this vision into a tangible reality, we are creating the "1000 Healthy Feeds" initiative. This strategic online initiative is designed to get JOYfuel into the hands of 1,000 Canadian parents (by the end of Q4 2025) so that they can create their first healthy digital media feed for their kids, and also to spread the awareness that parents do have the power to turn the tides of the current mental health crisis, and through the use of JOYfuel they can do so at scale for posterity's sake.

Market Entry Consulting
This experience focuses on equipping learners with the skills to evaluate market opportunities and develop strategic plans for new ventures. Participants will learn to apply analytical frameworks and strategic thinking to real-world business challenges, particularly in the context of helping a Ugandan coffee producer, Carledorian Connection, enter the U.S. market. Learners will gain hands-on experience in creating value propositions, identifying market obstacles, and crafting actionable recommendations, all while honing their communication and problem-solving skills.
